Industrial radiography has long been the “backbone” of nondestructive testing and still gains favor due to the permanent, visible record that is produced. Welds, castings, and other items are radiographed to determine acceptability or for general information purposes.
Hi-Tech utilizes Iridium 192, Cobalt 60 and X-Ray machines to obtain quality radiographs of the item to be examined. Efficient and economical, Iridium 192 sources are available from low curie strengths, up to in excess of 100 curies to optimize both time and quality. Cobalt 60 is reserved for heavy wall items and XIT crawlers are available for cross-country pipeline applications 12” and larger. An average of 15 completely equipped mobile units currently operate out of our Longview, Texas office on a daily basis. A large “vault” designed for radiography is available for “in-house” radiography. Larger projects are equipped with mobile darkroom trailers and automatic film processors and film viewing facilities when needed.
