Hardness tests are performed on all metal materials, components, and welds with the EQUOTIP 2 Hardness Tester. This unit is designed for field use and will provide accurate repeatable measurements. Special impact devices are used for determining hardness values where component geometry, surface finish, or confined access precludes the use of the standard device.

The EQUOTIP 2 uses impact technology invented by Dietmar Leeb where an impact body with a tungsten carbide test tip surface from which it rebounds.

Telebrineller systems are also used for determining harness values.
